Here’s the perfect refreshing drink for hot summer days. It is simple, and packed full of vitamins A, K, and C plus minerals like copper, phosphorus, potassium, and magnesium. This natural juice has hardly any carbs. It’s a great way to hydrate and tastes so good you’ll forget how healthful it is.
I made this batch yesterday evening, so it could chill overnight. After a morning of farm chores, it was so nice to cool off with an ice cold glass!
So skip the sugary sports drinks. Hydrate nature’s way with a homemade, ice cold Aguas Frescas!
Aguas Frescas
Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped cucumber, peeled & seeded
- 1 cup water, or more to taste
- Juice of half a lemon or lime
- Fresh mint, optional
- Sweetener, optional
Blend all ingredients until completely smooth. Chill. Serve over ice.
For a highly nutrition-packed Agua Fresca, you can purée the entire cuke, including the peel and seeds.
It is great without any sweetener, but you may prefer to add a teaspoon of sugar or honey or other natural sweetener. If you grow stevia, we like to make a simple syrup from your stevia leaves and store it in the fridge. A drizzle of stevia syrup blended in Aguas Frescas is delish!
My favorite paring knife of all time! Perfect size and balance. I got mine here.
Aguas Frecas always taste best when I use my grandmother’s antique juicer. I found a similar one for you to purchase here.
